Our Allergen And Food Intolerance Policy
At Cultured Bakehouse, we are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all of our customers, including those with food allergies and food intolerances.
We understand the seriousness of food allergies/intolerances and the potential risks they pose. Therefore, we have implemented the following policy to ensure the well-being of our customers:
1. Ingredient Selection and Labelling:
a. We carefully select our ingredients and prioritise allergen-free options whenever possible.
b. All ingredients used in our bakery items are clearly labeled with accurate allergen information.
c. We maintain up-to-date knowledge about common food allergens and their potential sources.

b. We are educated about common food allergens, cross-contamination risks, and the importance of preventing cross-contact.
c. We are equipped with knowledge about the ingredients used in our products and can provide accurate information about potential allergens.
3. Separation and Cross-Contamination Prevention:
a. We maintain a separate preparation area for allergy-friendly items to minimise the risk of cross-contamination.
b. Utensils, equipment, and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised before preparing any allergy-friendly items.
c. We have designated tools and equipment specifically for allergen-free products to avoid cross-contact.
d. We have a totally separated Coeliac Friendly area, where we prepare our Gluten Free Products. Our gluten free products comply with the gluten limit of less than 20ppm.
4. Allergy-Friendly Options:
a. We offer a range of allergy-friendly products that cater to various dietary restrictions and allergies.
b. Our bakery items are clearly labeled with allergen information and indicate if they are free from common allergens such as gluten, dairy, nuts, soy, and eggs.
c. While we strive to provide a safe environment, customers with severe allergies are encouraged to inform us about their allergies so that we can take extra precautions.
5. Customer Communication:
a. We encourage customers with food allergies to inform us about their allergies and dietary needs before placing an order.
b. We are available to answer questions and provide information about ingredients and potential allergens in our products.
c. We take customer allergies seriously and make every effort to accommodate their needs.
6. Supplier Communication:
a. We maintain open communication with our suppliers to ensure the accuracy of allergen information for the ingredients we use.
b. We rely on reputable suppliers who follow strict allergen control protocols.
7. Continuous Improvement:
a. We regularly review and update our allergy policy to incorporate new information and best practices.
b. Feedback from customers is greatly appreciated and helps us enhance our allergy-friendly practices.
8. Other allergens:
We carry out a full risk assessment for raw materials with regards to all 14 recognised allergens listed in the Food Information for Consumers Regulation (EU).
These allergens are:
- Cereals containing gluten; namely wheat (such as spelt and khorasan wheat), rye, barley, oats
- Crustaceans; for example prawns, crabs, lobster, crayfish
- Milk (including lactose)
- Nuts; namely almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecan nuts, Brazil nuts, pistachio nuts, macadamia (or Queensland) nuts
- Celery (including celeriac)
- Sulphur dioxide/sulphites
- Lupin, which includes lupin seeds and flour
- Mollusc for example clams, mussels, whelks, oysters, snails and squid
Please note that while we strive to maintain a safe environment, customers with severe allergies are advised to exercise their own discretion when consuming our products.
