𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟 Sourdough bread is simple: water, flour and salt. 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧’𝗦 𝗜𝗧! nothing else added. Sourdough bread is 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 (not additives or preservatives), it 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 to ferment (live/active cultures anyone?), it 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 a 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟 that although any body can attain, not many really do, it is not cheap because we take the best ingredients we can find (organic flour, filtered water, sea or Himalayan salt), and there are not may shortcuts one can take, even though it’s a lovely bread. Did you know that there’s currently no law about what constitute a sourdough? “Sourdough as a type of bread is not a legally defined term and therefore has no specific definition outside of what the reasonable consumer who is reasonably well informed may understand from that term”. That’s actually not good. Why? Because anyone can say a product is “Sourdough” and this not be true, or contain yeast, or contain very little active cultures and the rest be as far a natural as one can imagine… Be informed. Know that a REAL SOURDOUGH BREAD contains 3 ingredients. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗚𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁. Know what you are buying and read the label. Your gut and overall health will thank you.
